PERFECT Vintage Pink Fostoria "FAIRFAX" B&B/Dessert Plate - X2!

Description

Up for sale is an absolutely perfect hard-to-find Rose pink depression glass bread & butter/dessert plate in the “Fairfax” pattern by Fostoria!  Fostoria started making the Fairfax pattern in 1927, and they used it for several of their most popular etched patterns (June, Versailles and Trojan are a few).  Collectors of the etched patterns often fill in their table settings with unetched pieces.  There were originally 11 plates for sale in this auction, and there are just two left! – the bid price is for one plate, and the buyer has the option of taking both if desired.  Both are in extraordinary condition – there are no chips, cracks, flakes, fleabites, nicks or roughness anywhere, and the glass is nice and shiny with no stains, oxidation or unsightly utensil scratches.  Among all 11 there were an odd scrape or scuff here or there, but that’s about it!  They’re a very versatile size - they measure just a smidge more than 6 inches in diameter across the top, and they stand on polished ground rims.  They’re perfect for sherbet or ice cream, for dessert items like cake, pie, or cookies, as bread & butter plates (of course), or even as underplates for the bullion bowls! They’re absolutely guaranteed to be vintage – not reproduction or new glass.  I have other pieces for sale in other auctions, so be sure to take a look!  The Fairfax pattern can be seen photographed either in Gene Florence’s “Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era” or in Coe’s “Elegant Glass – Early, Depression & Beyond”!  They’re a fantastic bargain at this low price, and they would be a wonderful addition to any table setting or collection of vintage Fostoria glassware!  The buyer will pay shipping and insurance (insurance is automatically included in the shipping calculator as a “handling fee”).  Shipping will be combined for the buyer of more than one item whenever practical.  Expedited shipping is available upon request.  Normal shipping is within 3-4 days after receipt of PayPal payment (if other payment options are desired, please don’t hesitate to inquire).
